Just like with the Tsunami or 9/11 it's pretty hard to wrap my mind all the way around the devastation that has whipped through LA and MS. It's hard to imagine all of the MAJOR effects. Imagine being a kid - 8 years old. People all around you are dying. Your home is gone. There is no "back to school." Maybe you'll return after the water has been drained and your family will rebuild. Maybe you will move to a totally different state - start from scratch. 10 years from now when you get to college it seems like a distant story in your life, but when you tell your new roomate they look at you with wide eyes.
I can't even imagine dealing with something so life changing.
